it is not with our eyes that we see reason or appreciate beauty
For
centuries, mysticism has concentrated on sensitivity, while occultists have concenrated on
mind. Wisdom requires
the unification of both. First comes
learning, which turns into knowledge, then knowledge is
transformed into wisdom, when combined with insight and
experience. To enter into The House Which is Holy,
(Solomon's Temple), we pass through the two pillars of Joachim and
Boaz, symbolizing the strength of universal support and the
beauty of all
creation. The
Light shines upon Us all. Some of Us have merely had our
backs turned to it and have become mesmerized by our own shadows.
If we would but consider, it takes Light to cast a shadow. The pillars are not as some of us have
imagined, symbols of black and white, representing duality and
polarity. It is not a
question of what is right or good, for qualifications of "right"
and "wrong" or "good" and "bad" are what form the foundation of duality
and conflict. The Whole of Creation is divided and separated into conflicting parts. The
pillars are symbols of transcendence, of Integration and
Understanding, leading to the recognition and realization of the
Power over Reality. But it is not as many of us have
imagined. I would say "thought" but thought requires devotion to
a process of reason. Reason is a process of integration, of
adding one idea to another without creating any contradictions.
I could also say "believed" but whatever we believe to be true, is true for us, for that is the nature of belief.
Knowing is not a belief. It is belief proved beyond a shadow of
doubt. It is a known beyond question. Beliefs
which are untrue, unaligned with the Light, are what cause all
shadows. A spiritual path is an inner path which explores our subconscious. It requires passing through
mindscapes where reality is plastic and mutable, glamors and illusions
abound. It is a strange land, created by our thoughts, emotions and
desires, both individually
and collectively. We begin the path symbolized by a
caterpillar and emerge a butterfly, symbolizing freedom. It
is the transformative phase, the phase of transfiguration, while
undergoing "chrysalises" that this site addresses. Many of us
speak of the chrysalis stage but really don't know what goes on.
The caterpiller is encased in its cocoon. We don't usually
get to see any part of it. Inside, the caterpiller sheds its skin, which creates a hard outer shell.
Next, the caterpillar dissolves itself, becoming liquid, with a
very few key cells remaining. This liquid state, often called
"mush", then rearranges itself into the forms and structures of a
butterfly. Transformation complete, the butterfly emerges
and leaves all remnants of its past behind. These
pages convey the meaning of the transformative stage. It is
an understanding of the mindscapes in our subconscious, where
everything is mutable, nothing is fixed. It is the realm of our
thoughs and emotions, our wishes, our dreams and our nightmares.
Illusion and self deceit abound. Anyone who examines the
content and quallity of
"spiritual teachings" over the last century, especially over the past
20 years, will find the nature and tone of the communications to be
extremely variable: mediums, psychics, UFO contacts, space brotherhoods
and discarnate inner masters. All this on top of a hodge podge of
religious teachings from all over our globe. There are many
hoaxes perpetrated
through ignorance. Those of us who
walk the transpersonal path do not often fit the preconceived notions
of a mediating priesthood, which is rooted in many of our
religions. Understanding Creation and how it works falls under
the subject of "Creativity", which cannot be understood seperated from
sexual and primal urges. The very last one of us I'd ask about
giving birth, which is as pure an essence of Creativity as we can get,
would be one of us who is celibate. The subjugation of desire is
not the same as its transfiguration. "As
above, so below" isn't going to be understood through the negation of
either "above" or "below". Top half/ bottom half, personality/ soul, same
difference. Half is still half. We cannot experience
"Oneness" or "Wholeness" or being a "Complete" person without both
halfs. What's the use in connnecting with the Universe if there
is no developed and coordinated Personality capable of
translating ideas into forms and inventions that benefit
Humanity, both individually and collectively? Individual self
development is required. Which is why I assert and express the potential of
personal gnosis, of Knowing, that is within us all.
In this "exalted" state, we
often find ourselves in uneasy relationships with Society at large,
who's security is dependent upon maintaining the status quo. In
Tibetan, Zen and Taoist traditions, we are the "rascal masters" for we do
not discount or deny the value of individuality, insisting instead,
that All That Is, means All That Is. Always embraces all ways, Sue Ann Edwards The Divine Feminine - Introduction
