Every single one of us has a sense of ‘self’.  When we talk to ourselves, it’s the ‘me’ we’re talking to.  Self is a real good listener.  Kind of like a captive audience.  No matter where we go, there we are.  

We all have to live with ourselves.

I’d like to call attention to the kind of relationship most of us have with ourselves.  We don’t know ourselves very well.  We don’t understand ourselves.  Most of all, we don’t love ourselves.  

We all have a story.   It’s a story of Who we believe ourselves to be.  Our story begins with our birth, much like opening the pages of a good book and, climbing into the role of the main character.   

The first chapters of our stories are usually devoted to setting the stage and background of our story.  Introducing the main characters and places.  We are born (_____).  Fill in the blank with body color, eye color and, hair color.  We ‘belong’ to (_____)  Family.  Fill in the blank with principal characters: Mother, Father, Sister, Brother, Aunt, Uncle, Cousin, and so forth.   We live in a place called (______).   Fill in the blank with a Place: city, town, state, province, country, planet, etc.  

The next few chapters reveal our character’s development.   What happened, when.  Who did what to whom.  How it happened.   These events bring experiences into our lives, which contribute to our understanding of Life and, our place in it.

Lots of stories continue along this line of development, with all sorts of plot twists, deceptions and a little bit of comic relief thrown in now and then for good measure.

Mine didn’t.  It went a different direction, though I didn’t know it nor understand it at the time.  

I had to think about it for a moment to remember how many years ago I began my study.  It was 33 years ago.  Simply speaking, exoteric means ‘outside’ and esoteric means ‘inside’.  Exoteric applies to our conscious awareness, esoteric applies to our subconscious awareness.   Exoteric means what our physical eyes cen see, esoteric is beyond what our physical eyes can see.  One is Sight, the other Vision.

It is not with our eyes that we see Humor.

And it is not with our eyes that we see Reason.

I was an engineer at the time, beginning to follow an interest in magnetic fields.  Not a formal study as you might imagine, in some kind of structured classroom or laboratory.  The Quantum Field isn’t something than can be studied in that way.  Columbus sensed there were currents in the air and currents in the ocean.   I sensed there were currents in the Universe, too.  It was many years later, when scientists started studying sub atomic particles, that I first heard the word ‘quantum’.
 
My research led me to seek readily available sources of information on planetary positioning, so I could calculate gravitational movements.   At the time, I found those resources among Esoteric books.   And that’s how it all began.  Instead of  Physics, I found myself researching Meta-Physics.  

My first and only Teacher was a wonderful woman.  84 years old, with 72 years experience.   She told me if I really wanted to understand, to study my self.   I would discover a lot about myself.  Then she told me if I wanted to discover even more, I needed to study those I disliked.  

So I started ‘in’ on myself.  Instead of looking for answers in the World around me, I looked inside to understand the World within me.   I suppose the world of our Intuition would be an accurate description or the realm of our subconscious.  I further suppose I’m one of few that would relate that World to Quantum Physics.

The stage of my story has now been set.
