I was visiting with a friend of mine last night. He is a Fisherman, just back from fishing in the Bering Sea. Yes, he’s one of the men that fish the boats in the TV show “The Dangerous Catch”. Anyone who has experience fishing there, can easily find a job here.
He was discussing “tendering”, which is the job of baiting. When it comes to crab fishing, huge pots are baited and thrown overboard. You always get the job of tendering before fishing. He said he had spent the past few weeks “tendering” on a fishing boat here, which was getting ready to head out fishing for cod. It’s another kind of fishing and as he was saying, if he wanted to be any kind of Fisherman, then he needed to learn the different kinds of fishing. But he was tired of “tendering”.
So I spoke up…
“Do you mean that in order to be a Master Fisherman you need to be a Master Baiter first?”

And I thought it was rods they were holding…

I think this time he says they bait lines and throw the lines. It’s another kind of fishing then crab pots. As for the rods they hold…I’m not going to say another word.
(grinning)
The all time hilarious joke of the year, is my friend telling me he could get a job on one of the boats for me. I could cook and I could bait. Oh boy, howdy, I could be a master baiter, too!
and here I don’t like ‘wet’ or ‘cold’ and would most likely get seasick with the way the boat rocks to and fro.
I feel much more relaxed keeping my feet on dry land and waiting until he brings back the tuna, the salmon, the crab and the cod, and delivers them to me in my kitchen.

Hi Mikey!
I wrote down the number and delivered your message! Then I deleted the number from your comment. *winking*
I just got a delivery of a huge bag of fresh sea bass and my lesson tonight is learning how I’m suppose to fillet it for packaging. And another friend of Bill’s loaned his truck out to some friends and they returned it full of king salmon, 1000’s of them.
I guess Bill is going to learn to like fish…
{{{hug}}} to you!!!
